| La cucina economica a legna è provvista di moltissimi accessori e veniva utilizzata per diversi usi domestici e permetteva di consumare meno combustibile rispetto al camino.Costruita in ghisa, acciaio e refrattari, è costituita da una piastra principale su cui si appoggiano le pentole e gli oggetti che devono essere riscaldati. nello sportellino principale si brucia la legna o la carbonella, nel cassettino sottostante si ammucchia la cenere che viene utilizzata per concime o per sciacquare i panni. Poi c'è il forno e lo scaldavivande, un serbatoio per l'acqua calda estraibile, la canna fumaria su cui possono essere inserite delle celle Peltier per produrre corrente. Per estrarre gli anelli di ghisa a grandezza variabile si una una leva di acciaio di 50 cm. La stufa riscalda l'ambiente più di un camino e sulle piastre si possono far scaldare ferri da stiro appositi per stirare.
Attaccato alla canna fumaria si può mettere uno stendino per asciugare i panni. Inoltre si può fare la distillazione secca del legno e quella delle grappe.
